Documentation: Hidden Element Recognition

The extension will recognize hidden elements when they are reached through keyboard navigation (tabbing). An element will be considered hidden if it meets any of the following conditions:

CSS Conditions

  • display: none;
  • visibility: hidden; combined with tabindex="-1"
  • opacity: 0;
  • Positioned outside the visible area (position: absolute; left: -9999px;, position: fixed; top: -9999px;)
  • Clipping or hiding techniques (clip: rect(0, 0, 0, 0);, height: 0; overflow: hidden;, and others).

HTML Conditions

  • Use of the hidden attribute, which completely hides the element and prevents it from receiving focus.

This recognition ensures that no accidentally hidden interactive element can interfere with the user's keyboard navigation.
